Anupam Kher resigned as chairman of FTII | Hindi Movie News

Subsequent Gajendra Chauhan took the actor Anupam Kher over the teeth of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) as chairman last October. The position was handed to him with great expectations, but the actor has just finished his position titled "busy schedule".

In a rather shocking event, Anupam Kher gave her position as chairman of FTII with reference to commitments to an international television show that the actor is busy with. He also stated that he must be stationed in the United States for the show and would not be actively involved in the business.

In his letter of departure to Information and Radio Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, he said that because of his commitment to the show he will be stationed in the United States for "almost nine months between 2018 and 2019 and then for a similar period of at least three years more".

"In view of this task, it is not fair for me, the students and management that I hold such a position of responsibility and accountability without being actively involved in the business," he said in his letter of departure.

His letter of departure has been accepted by Rathore, who thanked Kher for his services to the premier institute.

Kher had replaced Gajendra Chauhan, who had a controversial service, as head of the Pune-based Institute last October.
