Synopsis
A comedy of errors that are let down by shameful execution.
Cast & Crew
Story: Girdhari Lal (Sanjay Mishra) is a Mathura priest who has no money, but he wants to have his daughter Radha (Kajal Jain) married to Gopal (Mahesh Sharma) with a full pump. To get the money, he decides to marry his son Banwari (Chandrachoor Rai) and use the dowry for his daughter's marriage.
Review: Every comedy movie requires a marriage with good ideas and skillful execution. Ekke's Tareekh Shubh Muhurat has some amazing ideas, but uninspired and jaded execution makes it a boring watch.
A middle-aged priest struggles to earn and survive the modest profit of his daughter. When it comes to marrying her, Panditji (Sanjay Mishra) has to go with gangsters, police and politicians. This is supposed to be a comedy of errors where a middle priest and his family are stuck in a series of unfortunate but fun events. But Ekkees Tareekh … suffers seriously from brutal writing and scary narrative. The worst part of the movie is editing, which makes the scenes look as if they are sewn together in a hurry hurry.
Sanjay Mishra's comic and dramatic talents are wasted in this random and incoherent movie. The criticism and satire of the organized marriages in India also fail to deliver.
