#MeToo Motion: "Jhund" Producer Comes To Support Nagraj Manjule | Hindi Movie News

Film maker Nagraj Manjule of "Sairat" fame recently grabbed the spotlight after his wife had accused him of shocking her, abusing and forcing her to go through abortions. And now, in the wake of the # MeToo movement, she updated her claims against the director. While Manjule is not yet to issue a statement, the producer of his upcoming film "Jhund" has come out in his defense.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, producer Savitaraj Hiremath issued a statement that read: "Nagraj jis divorce case with his wife is personal and has even been decided. The case is closed from today. However, some parts of the media have included Nagraj ji in the category" # # MeToo "and tries to show him in bad light. But this is not true. We are aware of the issue in the JHUND team and are clear on the stand that seems to be a single case, leaving alone that fits into the # MeToo category. In addition, we have internally controlled facts from the director and others and have not found any reason for such statements.

"Jhund", directed by Nagraj Manjule, stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The film is by the way a real story based on disadvantaged children living in slum areas and how the mega player's character builds a football team with these children. The film will soon be on floor and is slated to release in 2019.
