Twist Out is one of the simplest natural hair styles It works for pretty much any hair length.
My natural hair routine is quite simple because I do not think that natural hair care must be complicated. I like shampoo, condition, and then style every week usually in this hairstyle, Twist Out.
I have had this style because my hair was earlong. It is versatile and beautiful. These are my favorite hairstyles! See picture below.
I go through the 5 simple steps that help me achieve the perfect twist every time and keep my hair frizz-free and moistened for 7 days.
Step 1: Shampoo and condition
You do not want shampoo with just a few ole shampoo. You need a mildly sulphate-free shampoo that will not dry over your hair or leave it in a frizzy, messy mess.
There are plenty of moisturizing shampoos to choose from, but alternative between these three:
Step 2: Detangle thoroughly
I usually use shampoo and condition in 4 sections to make my life easier. After applying the conditioner from the end to the root, I feel it. In some cases, I follow up with a Denman D3 Classic Styling Brush 7 Row.
I always match my conditioner with my shampoo, for example if I shampoo Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturizing Shampoo then sends with Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturizing Conditioner.
I change between different conditioners and shampoos on laundry: EDEN BodyWorks Hibiscus Honey Curl Hydration Conditioner or Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Moisturizing Shampoo
Step 3: Moisture using the L.O.C method
Use of L.O.C Method gives you the most hydration before styling.
I recommend that you read more about it so that you can adapt it to your hair. Click here for more on the LOC method.
L stands for liquid or inlet conditioning, O for oil, and C is for cream.
You start with a let the conditioner remain Follow up with oil and then yours cream which in this case will be my styling product, EDEN BodyWorks All Natural Coconut Shea Defining Cream.
I usually use EDEN BodyWorks All Natural Coconut Shea Leave in Conditioner and follow up with a blend of coconut and olive oil. It sounds like a lot, I know, but I promise it's not.
Here are some others inlet conditioners
Plus, you'll love how soft, shiny and hydrated your hair stays all week long.
Step 4: Apply Styling Product & Twist
Divide your hair into small to medium rows. Finger combing EDEN BodyWorks All Natural Coconut Shea Defining Cream from the end to the roots. This is the best way to ensure that the styling product is evenly distributed in each row or section.
Once you have applied your styling product, you want to share your small to medium rows in smaller sections for your cords. Once you have this section, divide it into pieces and twist.
Turning is easy; Fold the two hair pieces around each other until you reach the ends. Then give them a little twist that will make a curl at the end. Spinning will keep your natural hair from scratching until it dries.
Step 5: Remove dry hair
Allow the hair to dry completely. Usually let me air dry and carry my twist for a few days. I'll squeeze the twist or wear a head plate.

Or you can sit under a hair dryer for 30-45 minutes or leave it overnight.
* You can fluff your hair on the roots or separate the cord more for a more full-bodied look.
