If you're something like me, you've found yourself more than one occasion generously with highlights on your cheekbones, looking into the mirror and thinking, I have to get more cowbell. And with cowbell, of course, I understand retina-threatening luminosity. But many highlighters reach a plateau; Layering on more does not intensify glow – it's only cookies on more product in vain. The Witchy makeup brand Rituel de Fille recognizes this, which is why they solve the frustrating swelling of highlighter max-out by launching the Alchemist Highlight Intensifier.
The Highlight Intensifier is exactly what it sounds like: "a highlighter for your highlighters," says Rituel de Fille – "a transformative top for your favorite light products". The 100 percent natural vegan formula comes in a black compact, where it looks like a small bowl of shimmering oatmeal. Inside the beige base, you can see iridescent multicolored spots of glitter that promise to create a dull, sparkling effect in addition to the radiation your highlighter can achieve on its own.
"Alchemist Highlight Intensifier works beautifully over absolutely any kind of highlighter – cream or powder," told Rituel de Fille founder and sisters Katherine, Caroline and Michelle Ramos attract via e-mail. "Because of the alchemist's unique structure and formula, the same application methods work for all types of highlighter, but like all our products, we encourage creative experiments to find your favorite way of wearing it." However, they have found using a foundation brush or tap it with fingertips, which gives maximum radiation.
There is a good chance that you will apply Alchemist Highlight Intensified to the cream highlighter first, given that it comes with Rituel de Fils Rare Light Cream Luminizer – a attract Best of Beauty Winner – in all six colors: Anthelion, Stellaris, Phosphine, Solaris, Ghost Light and Lunaris.
Our digital beauty editor, Sable Yong, dabbed the formula – as she says is quite shiny and sticky – over Anthelion, an orange-sloping gold shadow, and the actually doubled glow. The dull look you see in the picture below has a more defined skimmer in person.
You can also skip the first layer of highlighter completely and apply Alchemist directly to your bare or exposed skin. "If carried on its own, the alchemist is murdered, sparkling and almost completely transparent – beautiful but definitely not a traditional sign," said the sisters attract. "Either as a spinner or on its own, it reminds the effect of sunlight sparkling on sea water."
Alchemist Highlight Intensifier is now available for $ 32 at ritueldefille.com.
