Sally Hansen and Crayola Metallic Nail Polish Collection

Nail polish shade inspiration always seems to come from the strangest places. From chrome wheels to um, relationships, pretty much is no subject of boundaries in the nail polish world. It is therefore Sally Hansen x Crayola is consistently one of our favorite collaborations – it takes colors we all know and love from childhood and turn into bright, nostalgic Polish shades. The two brands continue their run of "color authority" collabs with a new line of 12 shades, now available at the pharmacy.

This time, Crayola dipped into a box of metal crayons (because they are now) for the nuance's inspiration. Range of bright colors with metallic surfaces for shades that go beyond the usual silver and gold. There is "Metallic Seaweed", a metallic teal; "Bittersweet Shimmer" a pink-tinged red; "Sheen Green", a limestone base with spark and more. Just like Crayola crayons themselves used, color palettes are here to make the creative juices flow – just with nail art instead of a color book.

Aside from the news that children now color with metal crayons, the best part of the collection is the packaging. The bottles are designed to look like real Crayola crayons, with the brand's iconic squiggle on each bottle. And just the way to organize all your chats in ROYGBIV orders was strangely satisfying, it's especially fun to line up these sweet bottles up in an orderly line.

Polishing is Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri formulation, which means that they are designed to dry in 60 seconds. It is a particularly good thing for those of us whose patience has not improved since kindergarten.

All twelve Sally Hansen Limited Edition Insta-Dri X Crayola Glam Rock Polishing Agent ($ 4.99) is now available at Mass Merchants.
