Selena Gomez only published on Instagram for the first time since she reported to a mental health earlier this fall.
She chose three separate black and white photos and wrote in the caption the challenges she faced in 2018.
"It has been a while since you heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and thank you for your love and support," she wrote. "Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It's always the challenges that show you who you are and what you can overcome. Trust me, it's not easy, but I'm proud of who I am and become look forward to the coming year. Love you all. "
This is Selena's first post on Instagram in almost five months. In September, she announced that she had partly taken a break from social media because of some of the negative comments she had encountered on different platforms.
Since October, reports reported that Selena had been controlled in a mental health facility according to what some outlets described as an "emotional breakdown". She was notified to the hospital two separate times due to complications from her kidney transplant, and it sent her spiraling emotionally.
Since she left the facility, she has spent time with friends like Taylor Swift and riding horses, as you do.
Wishes Selena a happy and health 2019. 💕
