New York - Skin Care

Hello everyone! If you follow me on Instagram, you would know I'm in New York for the holiday. I was quite looking forward to my vacation because the past year has been very difficult on the personal front. I was ready to explore the city when I landed 7 days ago but jetlag struck me like a train and I have no idea where and how the week just forgotten! I drove for 1-2 hours of sleep, even though I would spend the whole night throwing. I do not know how often aviators do it! My brother has been with me from Dallas for a few days so now we are enjoying the city together. There is so much to see! It was very cold (it was – 2 degrees C yesterday!) And would get cooler this week (not looking forward to that bit at all!).

Due to the strong contrast in the weather, my skin threw a fitting day the day I landed. I have never experienced dryness like this, not just on my face but on the body as well! One of the first things I had to do was turn on the pharmacy and set up – lots of oil, a lot of moisturizer and body lotion. I have wanted a good skin care routine now and my skin has * take wood * have been amazing! Just like you need clothes to cool, you need a layer of winter to keep your skin moist, healthy and brilliant! I carried some Innisfree minis with me from pomegranate intervals (with very good functioning actually – essence, lotion, cream and eye serum) but they only lasted me 3-4 days. What was my plan anyway because I planned to shop for beauty products here.

Step 1 : I start with a combination of soft detergents. Because I wear makeup every day, cleaning is very important, so most days I do a 2-step regime. I picked up Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil from Rite-Aid. It's a medium-weight oil, ie not as easy as dry oils, but it's also not super-cool. It does not emulsify a tone to be honest but clean enough well while providing a more necessary glide to my skin. I'm following this up with L & Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Cleanser which has pieces of scratchy particles, glycolic acid and produces mild foam – it gets oil / makeup straight without wiping the skin.

step 2 : I know that cleaners work just because my skin does not feel dry / stretchy after cleaning. For step 2, I add some liquor of a facial mask, carry it Innisfee Aloe Soothing Mist from india that seems to work alright as a basic hydrating mist.

Step 3 : I'll take a bit Innisfree pomegranate egg yard and apply it generously around the eyes. Its easy enough that it does not leave any greasy after feeling. It will not be more than 2-3 days I think I have to pick something from the pharmacy or Sephora soon.

Step 4 : For the face I use CeraVe Skin Rename Cream Serum, a rich soft serum that leaves a nice silky moist feeling on my skin. I think it is one of the products that is responsible for how well my skin has felt. It contains an indication of retinol and ceramide complexes. Retinol can easily dry the skin but I use a lot of oil on the skin so thankfully no flaking. I think this is a really nice anti-aging serum from the pharmacy that is not so bad on the pocket. On other days I have begun to use Sunday Riley Good genes which is a lactic acid exfoliating overnight treatment. Love it so much! Sunday Riley was one of the brands I really wanted to try. Will definitely look for more of their products at Sephora and make more detailed reviews.

Step 5 : I still do moisturizer cocktails because I have some Innisfree pomegranate lotion and I got a selection of Soul Cela Intuitif Light Cellular Renewal Cream, to be honest, blew me away! SO.MUCH.MOISTURE! Soul was a brand that I never heard of before but I watched Sunday Riley LUNA at SpaceNK and they did not have Luna. The lady suggested the Saphir Concentrate of Soul and the ingredient looked promising so I stopped buying it. Cell renewal cream was a free trial. I want to get full size, but the brand is so crazy expensive: "(

Step 6 : Through this step, my skin feels quite nice and hydrated but nothing like a light veil with oil to finish it. I use a few drops of Soap Saphir Concentrate Anti-Aging Facial Oil, and press it on my skin gently instead of massaging it. It smells really nice and leaves my skin very nutritious and brilliant. I'm busy for either bedtime or makeup at this point. The only thing missing in my routine is SPF, I'm just addicted to makeup for what's not the best to be honest. I have to choose a sunscreen, but since then the dead winter here right now it does not feel urgent!

So that's my current skin care routine here in New York! Let me know if you want me to make a similar blog post for makeup and body care!
