Last night at E! People's Choice Awards you may have noticed that some Freeform series could not be beat. shadow Hunters took home most awards at night, sweep up almost every category nominated it in the best TV actress, best tv actor, bingeworthy show 2018 and best show of 2018-over some very popular mainstream choices. In fact, Kat McNamara and Harry Shum Jr., who won the first two, were rare limiters, originally canceled the vote until enough fans tweeted their names.

So what have everyone so revved about this series based on Cassandra Clare's best selling young adult fantasy box series, The mortal instruments? I'll tell you: it's best. Seriously, what should not be loved about a group of sexy demonstrators (Nephilim called Shadowhunters) who work to save the world with the help of equally attractive warlocks, vampires and warriors?

But the current joy and wave wave may have something to do with the fact that the show has unfortunately been interrupted after three seasons, without any errors. Although one of Freeform's best series, Shadow Hunters & # 39; The production company Constantin relied on Netflix to provide funding for the expensive project. When the two companies were divested, Freeform could not afford to continue producing the series.

Malec.

Ugh, what can I say about Malec that has not already been said? The love between the seemingly serious, sharp shadow Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario) and proud, sparkling bisexual warlock Magnus Bane (Joy Alun, Harry Shum Jr.) is heartbreaking and rude. If others show attempts to capitalize on tragic gay storylines (a trope common enough to have earned their own title: "bury your gays"), Malec is a truly positive representation of an LGBTQA relationship for the ages. This pair has been in Edom and back, and never fails to be a leader of hope to fans all over the world (mostly at Tumblr).

In addition, the following clips can be the most iconic scene in the series. (Avoid if you want to remain undisturbed.)

The characters are pour hot … and different.

Talk about representation, shadow Hunters has always been a show that you can find yourself, despite their fantasy characters. The series consists of white, black, latin and asian leaders of different sexual orientations and won the GLAAD award for best drama series in 2017. Even better, each character is fully developed with its own multidimensional storylines. Let me introduce you to a few more of them:

Clary Fairchild (Kat McNamara): 18 years old from the everyday (human) world that realizes she's really a shadow hunter, and her dad Valentine is basically Hitler.

Jace Wayland … Morning Star … Herondale … Whatever (Dominic Sherwood): Shotgun ruthless ladysils, hopelessly drawn to Clary Fairchild. As for his ever-changing name, let's just say he's going through many identity crises.

shadow Hunters does not bump away from tough subjects.

Most people try, but only the most skilled fantasy shows can really describe complex social problems through the lens of a make believe world. Often, the entire fantasy function is to place current cultural debates on faces the audience is not aware of, cutting through bias and preconception. It's here shadow Hunters liver.

The guards, who are probably our heroes, have lived in violation of the Downworld (our vampires, commodities, etc.) for generations. The halves consider themselves superior to the Downworlders they are sworn to protect, often abusing their power as they fit. It puts our main characters (and even our favorite ships) in conflict with each other more than once and acts as a metaphor for race relations in the country. An example, if you wish:

The game scenes are A + … and please wait.

Ok, I have to admit the season that one is … quite low bud, but it's still extremely entertaining in a campaign's kind of way. But when Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer took over as season two showrunners, they all got up: from the makeup department, supplies, and especially the battle scenes. Let me just show you:

Or what about this?

The music gives a really sick playlist.

Whether it's original Simon Lewis hits as "fragile world" (which may or may not be my morning alarm tone) and "night shade" shadow Hunters is known to anchor important scenes with the perfect songs from future artists. The fans have been blocked especially at Ruelle, whose music is often featured in the series, including the most critical moment in season one, section 12 "Malec".

And Alberto Rosende is not the only musician in the cast. Kat McNamaras song "Ember" played in season 2 final "Besides Still Water".
